1. Summary of Chapter 01

The Outer Story:

The first Chapter of the Gospel of John provides us with a beautiful description of "what" God within us, as the Creator, the Nourisher, and the Sustainer within us, is doing within us, of "what" John (peace be upon Him) within us, as the witiness of God within us, the witness of the life and light of God within us, which is Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, is doing within us, of what Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, as the life of God, the light of God, the light of man within us, as God's judgment and salvation within us, is doing within us, of what the Creation of God within us, as the earth of God within us, where God plants the "Seed of God" within us, is doing within us, and finally, what each of us, as the falsehood covering the truth of us, as the life of death within us, covering the life of light within us, as the false "outside" of us hidding the true "inside" of us, as the choice within us, the choice between our true inside and our false outside within us, the choice between an eternal life of "Oneness with" God or an eternal life of "separation from" God, is doing within us.

Of what God within us is doing within us, as the Creator, the Nourisher, and the Sustainer within us, as the "Power within the Essence of Everything" within us, as the "Motionless All Pervading One" within us, who is the "Omnicient Silent One" within us, as the "One who has no form or shape within us, who is alone and yet is everywhere within us, existing as an Eternal Power within us, who dwells in all lives within us and sees them all as One", is doing within us. 

Of "what" John (peace be upon Him) within us is doing within us, as the "man sent from God ... to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe (John: 1, 6 & 7)", as the witness of God within us, the witness of Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, the witness of the life of God within us, the witness of the light of God within us, the witness of the light of man, within us, is doing within us.

Of "what" Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us is doing within us, as the life of God within us, the light of God within us, the light of man within us, as God's judgment and salvation within us, is doing within us.

Of "what" the Creation of God is doing within us, as the life of "separation and differences" within us, as the life of darkness within us, as the life of ignorance within us, as what "comprehended not the light, when the shineth within it (John:1, 5), the life of the lack of understanding within us, of what is within us, which is God within us, which is the witness of God within us, which is John (peace be upon Him) within us, which is the life of God within us, which is the light of God within us, which is the light of man within us, which is Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us.

And the life of the lack of understanding within us, of what is "happening" within us, which is God within us, which is the witness of God within us, which is John (peace be upon Him) within us, which is the life of God within us, which is the light of God within us, which is the light of man within us, which is Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us.

And of "what" each of "us" is doing both "outside", of what "we" are doing "outside" of us, as the life of "separation and differences", of darkness, of ignorance, of lack of understanding, on the "outside" of us, a life of "separation from" God, of "separation from" each other "outside" of us, and of "separation from" the Creation of God on the "outside" of us, for in truth we currently have no life within us, we are stuck on the "outside" of us, in the dream of "selfishness", of "self-existence" as "separate from" God and all that God is "One with", while the evil actions of kalam (time) within us are leading us, day after day, hour after hour, moment after moment, to kalan (the Angel of Death [peace be upon Him]) within us, and through Him to the suffering of the grave within us, to Qiyamah (the Standing Forth; the Day of Judgment) within us, where our mouth is sealed and all of the parts of our body testify against us before God within us, explaining what we made them do in our ignorance on the "outside" of us, and finally to an eternal life of "sepration from" God.

That is, Chapter 01 of the Gospel of John is a beautiful description of the work of God, of Jesus, of John, and of the Creation of God within us, and the work of "us" on the "outside" of us, the work of "us" in the world that we see in our ignorance as existing "outside" of us, which is a dream life in a world of darkness, a dream of a "personal existence", of "separation and differences", of selfishness, of arrogance, karma, and illusion, of desire for earth, women, and gold, of body, trick, and danger, which in truth but reflects the evil actions of kalam, or time, within us, which if not corrected before we die, will have only led us, when we die, not to God, not to "Oneness with" God for eternity, which we all talk about on the "outside" of us, but rather, will have only led us to kalan, to the Angel of Death (peace be upon Him), to the suffering of the grave, to
Qiyamah
(the Standing Forth; the Day of Judgment), and to an eternal life of "separation from" God.

For the work of God within us is revealing Himself to Himself within us for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us, and the work of Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, is to pass judgment on all of the Creation of God within us, as the light of God, the light of man, standing before the Creation of God within us, and if they like, to offer them "Oneness with" God within us, offering them the light of God, which is "Oneness with" God, and "Oneness with" all that God is "One with", if they will but put down their "separation and differences" within us, and pray to God behind the light of God within us, which is the same thing that God told satan, who at that time was not called satan, but was the king of the Jinns, the beings of fire Created by God, the same thing that God told satan, when God created Adam (peace be upon Him), and prsented Adam (peace be upon Him) to His Creation. This being their second and last chance, to take advantage of this options, which is eternal "Oneness with" God, rather than eternal "separation from" God, which is also our choice.

And the work of John (peace be upon Him) within us, which in truth is our Iman, our absolute, complete, and unshakabe faith, certitude, and determination that "God alone exists"; the complete acceptance of the heart that "God is One".

Is our Iman, which is a state of wisdom within us, which we can all experience within us, before we die, if we properly surrender to God within us, a state which we each must experience before we die if we are to truly hear Jesus, because in truth only Jesus within us, which is our soul, liberated from the cross of our elemental body, joined with our wisdom, as witnessed by John within us, by our Iman within us, can "hear the word" of Jesus "outside" of us, can "believe on Him that sent Jesus" on the "outside" of us, for our age, not our mind and desire, not our current life of "separation and differences" on the "outside" of us, for only this Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, which is our original life of purity within us liberated from a life of impurity within us, as the one who has truly awakened within us, "shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (John: 5, 24).

And this state of wisdom, of Iman within us, which in truth is John (peace be upon Him) within us, is described for us by His Holiness, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), in the beautiful book of wisdom given to us by His Holiness in 1986, and published in 1987, right after the passing of His Holiness from the world in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

And His Holiness is buried in a small farming community, right outside of Philadelphia, about an hours drive from the City, but before He died His Holiness established the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship, which is located right behind the Cardinal's Residence at Saint Joseph's University, on City Line Avenue, in Philadelphia, where all are welcome, and provided us with a beautifuly description of Iman, of the work of John (peace be upon Him) within us, in the book, "Islam & World Peace: Explanations of a Sufi, a book which you can read entirely on-line by clicking on the following URL:

For example, within this book His Holiness teaches us the following about John and Jesus (peace be upon Them) within us, about John (peace be upon Him) as Iman
within us, as the true light of absolute faith, certitude, and determination within us, that "God alone exists", and the complete acceptance within us of the heart that "God is One", and about Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, about the "purity of God" within us, that God has hidden with each of His Creation, as their judgment and salvation, and then, through His Creation of Adam (peace be upon Him), that God has also hidden within each of us, as our judgement and salvation, that God has hidden within the Creation of God within us, within the Creation of God that God has hidden within each of us, even before we came here, to this earth world, even before we were born.

And His Holiness teaches us about what is revealed within us by any of us, in our age, when we truly attain to this state of Iman within us, truly attain to the state of John (peace be with Him) within us, becoming in this way within us the witness of the coming of Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, into the world of darkness within us, becoming the witness of the coming of the life of God, the light of God, the light of man, into the world of darkness within us, into the Creation of God hidden by God within us.

With His Holiness using the word "Islam" to mean purity, to mean the pure life of God within His Creation wihin us, as the life of God, the light of God, the light of man, within us, as the life and light of Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, as well as the life and light of Muhammad (blessing and peace be upon Him) within us, coming into the world 600 years after Jesus (peace be upon Him) came into the world, but being the same, being the same life and light of God, the same light of man, coming to the Creation of God again, in that age, being again their judgment and salvation, but this time sealing this path, this religion, within all of us, and of Qutb Muhaiyaddeen Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani (may God be pleased with Him), coming into the world 400 years after Muhammad (blessing and peace be upon Him) came into the world, being the same, in that age, being their judgment and salvation, but presenting a deeper understanding of it, of this path or religion, with less veils covering the truth of it.

And in our age, coming as the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and His Children (may God be pleased with each of Us), again being the same, again being their judgment and salvation, but this time presenting an even deeper understanding of it, and this time with "no veil".

For as His Holiness teaches us,

          "This time everyone will hear it, everyone will understand it, and all that will be
          left is do they want it, do they want an eternal life of "Oneness with" God , or
          an eternal life of "separation from" God. And there is no other choice but this,
          and "no choice", that is, staying in our current state, is a choice, is to choose
          an eternal life of "separation from" God."

And the prerequisite for the correct choice within us, in our age, that is, to choose an eternal life of "Oneness with God" within us, is for Jesus within us with John within us as His witness within us, to "hear the words of Jesus" for our age "outside" of us, with "us" as the witness "outside" of us, and "to believe in Him that sent Jesus (peace be upon Him)", on the "outside" of us for our age, and in this way, for Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, with John (peace be upon Him) as His witness within us, to "not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life" within us (John: 5, 24).

This is what His Holiness describes for us as Iman-Isalm, as the state of John the Baptist (peace be upon Him) within us as the witness of Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, which occurred on the "outside" of us at the time of Jesus (peace be upon Him), over 2000 years ago, and is accurring again on the "outside" of us, in our age, as the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and of His Children (may God be pleased with each of Us), a state that allows the life of God, the light of God, the light of men, to truly enter us in each age, to truly penetrate the world of darkness within us, to present itelf to the Creation of God within us, in its current state of ignorance and incompleteness within us, as its judgment and its salvation, for each age, allowing it to come to completeness within us, if that be its true intention.

In this way, finding completeness within God's grace, finding wisdom within His completeness, finding truth within His wisdom, finding God as the "Oneness of God and True Man" within His truth, within His wisdom, within His completeness, within His grace. Amen.

In this way, His Holliness provides us with the following understanding of this true state of John (peace be upon Him) within us, of this state of Iman-Isalm within us, that allows the life of God, the light of God, the light of men within us, that allows Jesus (peace be upon Him) within us, within the Creation of God within us, with John (peace be upon Him) as His witness within us, to appear again to the world within us, to stand before the Creation of God within us, passing judgment upon them, and offering them true salvation, becoming "their rock, their fortress, and their salvation".

And in this way, in our age, doing it again, as the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be please with Him), and of His Children (may God be pleased with each of Us), if we like, destroying our life of "separation and differences" on the "outside" of us, and transforming the Creation of God within us into the state of
Iman-islam
within us, with His Holiness teaching us,

          "To always shine with the beautiful light and form of Iman is Islam. And to
          become sweeter as we think of this is Islam. If we understand God's qualities,
          we will find them so sweet. If we act with God's actions, they will be sweet."

          "When we embrace our bothers and sisters with those actions, and with trust,
          we will realize what happiness is, and know the goodness that comes from it."

          "As we embrace each brother and sister, heart to heart, helping them in
          whatever way they need, we will know what joy and goodness are."

And what about the "how', what about the "how" of "what" God does within us, of "what" He is doing within each of us, or said another way, "how" does God do "what" He is doing within us. What about this?.

His Holiness teaches us that God reveals God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us, by first revealing True Man within the Creation of God within us, by initially revealing "us" as "One with" the Creation of God within us, with the Creation of God within us which is currently in the state of ignorance, or incompleteness, or darkness within us, and with "us" currently experiencing this in our state of ignorance, or incompleteness, or darkness, as "us" existing "outside" of us, as "separate from" God within us, as "separate from" each other "outside" of us, and as "separate from" the Creation of God both within and "outside" of us, with all of this occurring in our current state in the world that we currently see in our collective ignorance as existing "outside" of us.

And with God constantly trying to reveal the truth of God within us to "us", bringing us to the state of Iman within us, and through "us" as the witness of God within us to all of the Creation of God within us, through "us" as John within us, as the state of Iman
within us, as the light and form of
Iman within us, which in truth is the state of Iman-Islam" within us, as it was 1400 years ago, in that age, and of John and Jesus within us, as it was 2000 years ago, in that age, and as it is now, as the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen and Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him, and with each of Us).

With the manifestation of Iman-Islam within us, of the witness of "God happenng" within us, in each of these ages, always appearing in the context of a different person, of a different Prophet or Messenger of God, and as a different set of disciples, and a different culture, or race, or religion, or language, but the essence always being the same, as the true witness within us of God revealing God to God within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us.

As the witness within us of "God happening" within us, the witnessing within us of God gradually revealing God to God within us, of God answering His own question within us, the question, "Who am I?" within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation of God within us, and in this way, the witnessing that in truth "Only God exists" within us, that in truth "God is One" within us, that in truth "there is nothing other than God" within us, that in truth "Adam, then Noah, then Abraham, then Ishmael, then Moses, then David, then Jesus, and finally, Muhammad is the Messenger of God" within us (may God be pleased with all of His Prophets), the truth that True Man is the "Oneness of God and His Creation" within us, the truth that God is the "Oneness of True Man and His Creation" within us, and hidden within all of this, the truth of the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us, which in truth is God and True Man within us.

Amen, Amen, Ya Rabil Alemeen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahman Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahim Alameen. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

And such is our choice, to live an eternal life of "Oneness with" God within us, or an eternal life of '"separation from" God within us, a choice which comes in each age, in the age of Abraham (peace be upon Him), from 2000 BC to 0 BC, to a certain degree, in the age of Jesus (peace be upon Him), from 0 AD to 2000 AD, to a greater degree, and now in our age, in the age of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and of His Children (may God be pleased with each of Us), which is everyone living in this age, if they want it, from Now to the End of Time, and coming now and until the End of Time in its full and complete degree.

And if we choose to be "One with" God within us, and willingly and freely let "us" end, willingly and freely let "us" as "separate from" God, as "separate from" each other, and as "separate from" the Creation of God within us, end, and end both within us and "outside" of us, if we let our life of "separation and differences" that we are currently living with our brothers and sisters, in the world that we collectively see with our ignorance as existing "outside" of us, come to an end, both within us and "outside"of us, then our life becomes successful.

Then and only then, will our life be successful, then and only then, will our life start to move forward again, causing time to stop within us, allowing our wisdom to reason over our fate, allowing God to finish what He has already started within us, allowing God to reveal God to God within us, by first revealing True Man within the Creation of God within us, as the "Oneness of God and His Creation" within us, for the benefit of all of the Creation within us, allowing God to answer His question within us, that He asked of Himself within us, in the time of darkness within us, before the beginningless beginning within us, in Anathi within us, the question, "Who am I", which in truth is our own question. Amen. 

The Inner Meaning:

And God is doing all of this within us, within what God lovingly and patiently created and placed within each of us even before we came here, even before we came to this earth world within us, so we could learn about who we "already are".

And having completed our duty, our purpose for coming here, that is, having understood the truth of us, that is, having understood the truth of us within the Creation of God within us, which is True Man within the Creation of God within us, and having understood the truth of God within us, that is, the truth of God within the Creation of True Man within us, which is God within the Creation of True Man within us, then as One with the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us, we return to God, we return to what we came from, which is God, no longer existing as "separate from" God, having completed our duty, having understood who we "already are", which we then spend eternity sharing with God within us.

Which is like the journey of the rain water, having come from the ocean, and having completed its duty, which is to rain on all of the Creation of God, and in this way nourish and sustain them, returns to the ocean, from which it came, becoming again the ocean, no longer existing as the rain water "separate from" the ocean.

2.  "What" God Is Doing Within Us

The Outer Story:

In the beginning God said the word "Be" and Created His Creation, as His word, as the manifestation of His word, as the beginning of what God does, which is to reveal God to God within His Creation for the benefit of all of His Creation, and in the beginning God was One with His word, with His Creation, and in the end, when God is finished doing what He is doing, when God has revealed Himself to Himself within His Creation, then His Creation, His word, will be Him, if that be their true intention

The Gospel of John:

1.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
          God.
2.  The same was in the beginning with God.

The Inner Meaning:

There is nothing other than God, only God exists, and God is One, everything is within what God is doing, which is revealing Himself to Himself for the benefit of all of His Creation, and all of His Creation is within the Oneness that is God, and becomes complete within God, complete within that Oneness that is God within themselves, when they realize, understand, accept, and join with this truth of themselves, that naturally emerges from within them, when they are ready to hear and accept it, when they are ready to join with that Oneness within them that is God within them, and the truth of God within God within them, which is them, and reject everything else, reject what appears to be happening to them, what appears to define them, as "outside" of them, and in this way, discarding their falsehood and embracing and becoming their truth, the truth of them, which is God.

Allowing God within them to move forward and complete what God is doing within them, which is revealing the truth of them within God, which in truth is them, is True Man within them, is the Oneness of God and His Creation, His Creation within them which is this earth world or dunya, which they see in their ignorance as existing "outside" of them, and True Man within them which in truth is what is within His Creation within them, within this earth world or dunya within them, allowing True Man within them to reveal God within them, within the Creation of True Man within them, the Creation of True Man within them which is the hereafter, the next world, or akhirah within them, and God within them which is what is within the Creation of True Man within them, and in this way, revealing the "Oneness of God and True Man" within them, which in truth is God and True Man within them.

Amen, Amen, Ya Rabil Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahman Alameen. Amen, Amen, Ya Rahim Alameen. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

Such is the purpose of all Creation, to join in partnership with God within us to allow God to finish what He has started within each of us, whether we know it or not, whether we even want it or not, because such is the truth of our life, of all life within God's Creation.

3.  "How" God Does "What" He Is Doing Within Us

The Outer Story:

God creates, nourishes, and sustains all of His Creation, and placed within them what is within Him, which is the life of Him, places Himself within His Creation, as the light of man, and reveals the light of man, which God placed within His Creation, within His darkness, to His darkness, to His Creation, He reveals the light of man within His Creation to His Creation. And the Creation of God does not understand it.

The Gospel of John:

3.  All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was
          made.
4.  In Him was life; and the life was the Light of men.
5.  And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The Inner Meaning:

And when the Creation of God does not understand it, does not understand the life of God, as the light of man within them, because they were originally Created and Nourished by God as His darkness, as His incompleteness, God offers His Creation completeness, He offers them light, He offers them true life, so they can understand and become His light, because only the light can understand the light, He offers them the light so they can become the light of man within them, within the Creation of God within them, so they can become the life of God within God within them, if they will only freely and willingly give up their darkness, their ignorance, their incompleteness, a darkness and incompleteness that they currently see and experience in their ignorance as existing "outside" of them as light.

And such is their choice, and as the Creation of God, as living as "One with" the Creation of God within us, that God has placed within each of us, such is the choice of each one of us, to either live for eternity as "One with" God or to live for eternity as "separate from" God.

Either to live for eternity as True Man within the Creation of God within us, as the "Oneness of God and His Creation" within us, and then in maturity to live as "One with" God, as what True Man reveals within His Creation, which is God, which is the "Oneness of True Man and His Creation", and in this way, becoming "One with" the "Oneness of God and True Man" within us.

Or to live for eternity as "separate from" God within us, that is, to continue to live in the state of incompleteness, of darkness, of ignorance, not just for this short time in the dream world that we see in our ignorance, as existing "outside" of us, but after our death, after our death in this state of "separation and differences, to also live for eternity as "separate from" God within us, experiencing the consequences of this choice, which leads us to the Angel of Death (peace be upon Him), to the suffering of the grave, to Qiyamah (the Standing Forth; the Day of Judgment), and to an eternal life of "separation from" God. Such is our choice.
